பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸினால் அண்மையில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட அதன் புதிய நிர்வாக உறுப்பினர்களை உள்ளடக்கிய பட்டியலில் பெண் உறுப்பினர்களின் புகைப்படங்கள் வெளியிடப்படாததை முக்கிய காரணமாகக் கொண்டு ஒரு சிலர் தங்களது தனிப்பட்ட கருத்துக்கள் மற்றும் விமர்சனங்களை சமூக ஊடகங்களில் தன்னிச்சையாக வெளியிட்டு பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸின் நற்பெயருக்கு களங்கமேற்றி வருகின்றனர். பேராதனைப் பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸ் பெண் அங்கத்தவர்களின் தனிப்பட்ட விருப்பின் அடிப்படையிலே அவர்களுடைய புகைப்படங்கள் சமூக வலைதளங்களில் வெளியிடப்படவில்லை என்பதனை முதலாவது இவ்விடத்தில் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்வதுடன், மஜ்லிஸின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ நிகழ்வுகளில் பெண் உறுப்பினர்கள் துணை வேந்தர், உப துணைவேந்தர் மற்றும் சிரேஷ்ட பொருளாளர் போன்றவர்களுடன் இணைந்து கடந்த காலங்களில் புகைப்படங்கள் எடுத்துள்ளமையும் இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அம்சமாகும். முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸ் தொடர்பானதொரு தெளிவினை வழங்குவதற்காக, பெண்களின் வலுவூட்டலுக்காகவும், அவர்களது திறன் விருத்திக்காகவும் முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸ் ஆற்றிவருகின்ற பணிகளை அடையாளப்படுத்துவதை நோக்காகக் கொண்டு இது வெளியிடப்படுகின்றது.
இளங்கலைப் பட்டதாரிகளின் திறன் விருத்தி, சமூக மேம்பாடு மற்றும் இன ஐக்கியத்திற்காக தொடர்ந்தும் உழைத்து வருகின்ற, 76 வருட கால நீண்டதோர் வரலாற்றுப் பாரம்பரியத்தையுடைய பேராதனைப் பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸானது, தனது பணிகளை தன்னகத்தே சில தனித்துவங்களை சுமந்தவாறு ஆற்றிவருகின்றது.
மஜ்லிஸில் பெண்களுக்கு தலைமைப் பொறுப்புக்களையும் ஏனைய முக்கிய பொறுப்புக்களையும் வழங்கியிருப்பதிலிருந்து அவர்களின் உரிமையும், சமத்துவமும், அடையாளமும் எந்தளவுக்கு பேணப்பட்டு வருகின்றது என்பதினை அறியலாம்.
பெண்களின் திறன் விருத்திக்கும் அவர்களின் சமூகப் பங்களிப்புக்குமான ஒரு களமாக மஜ்லிஸ் இன்று வரையில் செயற்பட்டு வருகின்றது என்பது யாவரும் அறிந்ததொரு விடயமாகும். அதற்கான சிறந்த சான்றுகளாக கடந்த வருடங்களில் எம்மால் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட நிகழ்ச்சிகள் காணப்படுகின்றன.
இதில் மிக முக்கியமாக 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மஜ்லிஸ், தனது 75ஆவது ஆண்டு நிறைவைக் கொண்டாடுவதற்காக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட செயற்குழு, சுமார் 95 இளங்கலைப் பட்டதாரிகளை உள்ளடக்கியிருந்ததோடு, அதில் 55 பெண் அங்கத்தவர்கள் உள்வாங்கப்பட்டிருந்தமையானது 58% வீதத்திற்கும் அதிகமான பெண்களே இதில் பணியாற்றியுள்ளனர் என்பதனைக் காட்டுகின்றது மேலும், இதில் 8 உப செயற்குழுக்கள் காணப்பட்டதோடு, அக்குழுக்களுக்கு ஆண், பெண் ஆகிய இருபாலினத்தவரிலிருந்தும் தலைவர்கள் நியமிக்கப்பட்டு சம அந்தஸ்து வழங்கப்பட்டது.
அத்துடன், பேராதனைப் பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸினால் ஆண்டுதோறும் வெளியிடப்பட்டு வரும் 'அல்-இன்ஷிராஹ்' சஞ்சிகை ஆசிரியர் குழுமத்தில் 50% பெண் அங்கத்தவர்கள் உள்ளடக்கப்படுகின்றனர் என்பதனையும் இத்தாள் அறியப்படுத்த விரும்புகின்றோம்.
மேலும் பாடசாலை மாணவர்களின் கல்வித் தரத்தை உயர்த்துவதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் மஜ்லிஸின் ஏற்பாட்டில் "Towards Success" எனும் தொனிப்பொருளின் கீழ் இலவசமாக இடம்பெறும் க.பொ.த (சா/த) மாணவர்களுக்கான வழிகாட்டல் செயலமர்வு, க.பொ.த (உ/த) மாணவர்களுக்கான வழிகாட்டல் நிகழ்வுகளில் இலங்கையின் பல பகுதிகளையும் சேர்ந்த அதிகளவான பெண் மாணவர்கள் பங்குபற்றுகின்றமையும், மேலும் அந்நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் முஸ்லிம் பெண் இளங்கலைப் பட்டதாரிகள் மாணவர்களுக்கான வழிகாட்டல்களை வழங்குவதும் குறிப்பிட்டுக் காட்டத்தக்கது. பல ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மாணவர்கள் இதன் மூலம் கடந்தகாலங்களில் அதிகளவு பயனடைந்துள்ளார்கள் என்பது இங்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இத்தோடு 2019ஆம் ஆண்டு பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்தினுள் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட சித்திரப் போட்டியில் 90% மான பெண்கள் பங்கேற்றமையும் இங்கு எடுத்துக் காட்டப்பட வேண்டிய விடயமாகும்.
இவற்றைத்தவிர 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மஜ்லிஸினால் முதன்முதலாக அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்ட மகளிர் விளையாட்டுப் போட்டியில் சுமார் 300 இற்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவிகள் கலந்து சிறப்பித்தனர். பெண்களுக்கென பிரித்தியேகமான முறையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட இப் போட்டியானது, கண்டி பதியுத்தீன் மஹ்மூத் மகளிர் கல்லூரியில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
மேலும் மஜ்லிஸினாள் சமூகத் தொண்டினை நோக்காகக் கொண்டு, மாவனல்லை ஆயிஷா உயர்கல்விக் கல்லூரியில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட பற்சுகாதார விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்வு மற்றும் வழிகாட்டல் செயலமர்வு, கல்முனை மஹ்மூத் பெண்கள் பாடசாலையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட க.பொ.த சாதாரண தர மாணவர்களுக்கான வழிகாட்டல் செயலமர்வு, பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்திற்கு சுற்றுப் பயணமொன்றை மேற்கொண்ட பாடசாலை மாணவிகளுக்கான ஊக்குவிப்பு நிகழ்வு என்பன மஜ்லிஸின் பெண் உறுப்பினர்களின் தலைமையிலேயே இடம்பெற்றது.
பெண்களின் கலாச்சார உரிமையை கருத்திற்கொண்டு 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மஜ்லிஸ் நிர்வாகத்தில் பெண்களுக்கென "பெண்கள் கலாசார செயலாளர்" பதவியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது.
2020 ஆம் ஆண்டு சுதந்திர தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட 'தயா நிவச-அன்னை தெரேசா' அனாதை இல்லத்திற்கு விஜயம் மஜ்லிஸின் ஆண், பெண் இருபாலாரும் ஒத்துழைப்புடனேயே முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. அத்துடன் கொவிட் 19 அசாதாரண சூழ்நிலையிலும் 'online' இனூடாக தனது செயற்பாடுகளை முன்னெடுத்த மஜ்லிஸானது, இன வேறுபாடுகளின்றி அனைத்து பல்கலைக்கழக இளங்கலை பட்டதாரிகளை இலக்காகக் கொண்டு மேற்கொண்ட நிகழ்ச்சிகளான அகில இலங்கை புகைப்படப் போட்டி, ஆய்வு முறையியலுக்கான வழிகாட்டல், எவ்வாறு தொழிலுக்கான நேர்காணலை (Job interview) எதிர்கொள்வது மற்றும் திருமணத்திற்கு முன்னரான உளவியல் ஆலோசனை வழிகாட்டல் செயலமர்வு, கொவிட் 19 விழிப்புணர்வு போன்றவை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கவை. இவற்றோடு முஸ்லிம் பட்டதாரிகளுக்கென பிரத்தியேகமாக ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட 'Ramadhan Package' போன்ற அனைத்து நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் ஏற்பாடு செய்வதிலும், தலைமை தாங்குவதிலும் மஜ்லிஸின் நிர்வாக குழுவினைச் சேர்ந்தப் பெண்கள் அதிகமான பங்களிப்புகளை நல்கியுள்ளனர் என்பதை மறுக்கவோ மறைக்கவோ முடியாது.
மேலும் ஆண்டுதோறும் ரமழான் மாதம் முழுவதும் சகலமானவர்களுக்கும் நோன்பு பிடிப்பதற்கும் நோன்பு திறப்பதற்கான உணவு வசதிகளை பல சிரமங்களுக்கு மத்தியிலும் முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸ் செய்துள்ளது.
மேற்குறிப்பிட்டவை பேராதனை பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸினால் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் சிலது மாத்திரமே.
எனவே, எவ்வித அரசியல் மற்றும் கொள்கை ரீதியான சிந்தனைத் தாக்கங்களுக்கும் உற்படாமல், நடுநிலைமை பேணி, பல்கலைக்கழக சட்டத்திற்கு உட்பட்டு, சிரேஷ்ட விரிவுரையாளர்கள் மற்றும் பல்கலைக்கழக நிர்வாகத்தினரின் ஆலேசனைகளுக்கிணங்க தனக்கெனத் தனியானதோர் தொனியில் தொண்டாற்றி வருகின்ற பேராதனைப் பல்கலைக்கழக முஸ்லிம் மஜ்லிஸ், அது தனக்கெனவுள்ள தனித்துவங்களை இழந்திடாது இலக்கு நோக்கிய பயணத்தில் இனிதாகப் பயணித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது.

CONTRIBUTION OF FEMALE UNDERGRADUATES OF THE MUSLIM MAJLIS OF UNIVERSITY OF PERADENIYA
Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya recently published a list of it's new committee members. The fact that photographs of female members have not been released in it is being used as the main reason by some people to bring out their views and criticism in their own perspective, in social media, defaming the reputation of the Majlis. First of all, we would like to bring to your notice that, not releasing their photos through social media is the personal choice of the female members of the committee. Also, it is notable that the female members of the majlis have taken pictures with the vice chancellor, deputy vice chancellor, senior treasurer, etc, at official functions in the past years. Further, we intend to give a better understanding regarding the Muslim Majlis by portraying it's services towards women empowerment and their skills development, through this article.
The services provided by the Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya, which has been working and continues to work towards skills development of undergraduates, development of the community and religious coexistence, and has a traditional history of 76 years, is unique in it's own way.
Girls are appointed for leadership roles and given other important responsibilities, by the Majlis, which shows the extent to which their rights, equality and identity are preserved.
To date, the Majlis serves as a platform for skills development and social contribution of girls, which is a well-known fact, and the programs conducted by us in the past years confirm it. One such main setting was, the organizing committee appointed by the Majlis for organizing it's 75th anniversary celebrations, consisting about 95 undergraduates, included 55 female
members, which concludes that more than 58% of contributors were females. Furthermore, 8 sub committee were appointed, including both male and female leaders, giving equal stature to both genders.
Moreover, 50% of the editorial board members of the magazine "Al-Inshirah", published by the Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya annually, are girls.
It is notable that, in the programs like free workshops on guidance for O/L students and guidance on stream selection for A/L students, organized by the Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya under the theme "towards success" every year, aiming for thebetterment of education standard of school students, many female students from many regions of Sri Lanka participate, and many Muslim female undergraduates take part in guiding students in these programs, and the fact that thousands of students have greatly benefitted from it in the past years is remarkable. In addition, 90% girls participating in the art competition organized in the university premises in 2019, is appreciable.
In addition, more than 300 Muslim students participated in the women's sports competition, which was introduced for the first time by the Majlis, in 2019. This competition, which was organized exclusively for ladies, was held at Badi-ud-Deen Mahmud Girls' College, Kandy.
Workshop on awareness and guidance on dental health in Ayesha Higher Education College, Mawanella, guidance programme organized for the G.C.E ordinary level students of Mahmood Girls' School, Kalmunai, and a motivational programme conducted for the students who visited the university premises on a field trip, were events organized with the aim of social service, and were led by the female members of the Majlis.
Considering the cultural rights of women, the post of "Ladies Cultural Affairs Secretary" was introduced in the administration of the Majlis, in 2020.
Visit to "Mother Teresa" orphanage, to commemorate independance day in 2020, was organized with the contribution of both male and female members of the Majlis. Moreover, the Majlis carried out its activities even during the covid’19 pandemic situation via "online"; The All island photography competition, how to conduct research methodology, how to face job interview, guidance workshop on premarriage counselling, and covid19 awareness program, were conducted targeting all university undergraduates, regardless of race, and the "Ramdhan package" was arranged exclusively for Muslim undergraduates. The fact that female members of the Majlis executive committee have given a higher contribution in organizing and leading these programmes is undeniable.
Also, even amidst rough situations, the Majlis has been providing food facilities for Sahar and Ifthar for all students throughout the month of Ramadhan every year, The services mentioned above are only a few of the many accomplishments of the Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya.
The Muslim Majlis of University of Peradeniya provides it's services in it's own unique way by maintaining it's neutrality, regardless of the speculations of politics and policies, sticking to the rules and regulations of the university, complying to the advice of senior lecturers and university administration, and progresses towards it's goals maintaining it's uniqueness.
