AHRP Soars to 25th year taking HR to the forefront
The Association of HR Professionals (AHRP) marked a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years of shaping the onward march of the HR profession in Sri Lanka.

Founded in 2000 by a visionary group of practitioners and academics, AHRP has been instrumental in elevating HR to the boardroom as a strategic business driver and enabler.
At the Annual General Meeting held on 1st August, the newly elected Executive Committee, led by Thushara Jayawardene, General Manager – Human Resources at South Asia Gateway Terminals, unveiled a bold and futuristic strategic canvas to guide the profession into its next chapter.
This landmark year will see the completion of the Association’s Act of Incorporation in Parliament, the introduction of an internationally benchmarked HR capability model, and the launch of a professional certification program in partnership with leading global and local stakeholders. Strengthening ties with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and addressing national talent gaps identified at last year’s National HR Conference are also top priorities.
